Muaythai Superfights will return on the 20th November 2010, the main event will feature the UK leading Welterweight star Jordan Watson against the highly rated Japanese champion Shinya Ishige. They will contest the vacant ISKA World Super-welterweight Muaythai title.
Jordan has been making steady progress in the last three years, he made a big impression by reaching the final of the K-1 UK MAX 2007 tournament at the Excel in London. The following year he went one better by winning the UK eight man qualifying tournament for a spot on the second season of the popular TV reality show Asian Contender. His most impressive performance to date was his epic battle with K-1 MAX Champion and World Muaythai Champion Buakaw Por Parmuk in May of this year, Jordan was the underdog with few pundits expecting him the go the distance against Thailand’s finest, but Jordan gave Buakaw all the trouble he could handle, the K-1 champion worked hard to earn a points decision with Jordan rarely taking a step backwards and always ready to trade leather or shin.
Shinya Ishige is a well respected fighter in Japan and Thailand, earning his stripes at Tokyo’s Kueraken Hall and the Bangkok Stadium’s including matches with Saenchai Sor Kingstar and Kuntap Weerasakreck, he is also a veteran of the King’s Birthday Shows, appearing twice for the Thai Royal Family. Shinya, nicknamed the ripper due to his razor sharp elbow strikes in the current All Japan welterweight Champion.
